When it is time to paint windows, there is always the dilemma of how to keep the paint off the glass…use masking tape?...razor scrape the glass after painting?...paint slowly?

Here is an alternative I like a lot! A very clever company named Associated Paint Inc. has made a product they call Masking Liquid H2O, that performs two tasks very efficiently. First, it is a clear latex primer that sticks to many surfaces and second, it easily peels off smooth window glass.

The beauty of this product is that it may be sprayed or brushed over a new wood window frame, including the glass parameter or even the entire glass pane. Masking Liquid H2O will prime most surfaces to be painted and will gently stick to the window glass and will easily peel off the glass shortly after the paint has dried. After painting, simply razor cut around the edge of the window pane and the fun starts. The Masking Liquid H2O, along with any paint that would have been stuck to the glass will peel right off. It is almost as much fun as peeling off dried Elmer’s glue from the palm of your hand.

Just a few limitations…don’t use H2O Masking on plastic window panes, on a textured glass or glass with a sun screen film. Also, it will not stick to a glossy or some non porous surfaces such as a vinyl or plastic window frame or some previous coats of paint.

It is an excellent product to remember when you are painting around glass.
