An Extraordinary Class Reunion

On July 18, 2009 Cindy and I had the great pleasure of attending my 45th Thomas Jefferson high school reunion along with 50 other classmates and spouses. The event was was hosted by one of our classmates, Margaret Marshall Rhyne and her husband David at their beautiful home in Sedalia Colorado, the foothills of the front range of the Rocky Mountains where they own and operate the Allis Ranch Winery. Earlier the day of the reunion, just out of curiosity, I thought I would Google Margaret Marshall, just to see what she might have been up to lately. What I found made my heart sink. I found her website and learned that she has written a book that recounts her life with her special child, Alexis. Margaret has told their story so beautifully me trying to describe it would sound empty. I will just link to her book REMEMBERING ALEXIS in case you would like to come to know Margaret and Alexis and learn how one very remarkable woman has dealt with some of life's most difficult lessons. That night, at the reunion, Margaret signed a copy of her book for me and allowed me the great honor of piping for my classmates in general and for Alexis' memory, specifically.
